    • Provide photos and layout plans of the kitchen and storage areas.
    • Attend Halal awareness training or consultation before inspection.
    • Allow JAKIM or JAIN officers to conduct an on-site audit before approval.

Important Rules

  • All food and beverages served must come from Halal-certified sources.
  • No mixing of Halal and non-Halal items in storage, cooking, or serving areas.
  • All staff handling food must practice clean and hygienic preparation methods.
  • Display the official Halal logo only after approval is received.
  • Any change of supplier, menu, or management must be reported to JAKIM/JAIN immediately.

Compound & Punishment

  • If a café branch is found breaking Halal laws:
    • The Halal certificate can be suspended or cancelled.
    • The owner may be fined up to RM200,000 (for companies) or RM100,000 (for individuals).
    • Repeat offences can lead to higher fines or imprisonment under the Trade Descriptions (Certification and Marking of Halal) Order 2011.
    • Misuse of the Halal logo or false claims can also lead to business license cancellation by local authorities.
