Details
- G2 license holders can undertake projects with a contract value not exceeding RM500,000.
- Registration is valid for 1 to 3 years and must be renewed upon expiry.
- Applicants must be registered with CIDB and provide supporting documents, including:
- Company registration (SSM)
- Financial records to prove stability
- Relevant technical experience or work history
- G2 contractors can work on slightly larger projects than G1, such as small residential buildings, renovations, and minor civil works.
Important Rules
- Contractors must obtain a valid CIDB license before starting any construction work.
- G2 license holders are restricted to projects valued up to RM500,000.
- Contractors must display their CIDB registration number on project signboards.
- Compliance with CIDB Act 520 and relevant regulations is mandatory.
- Renewal applications must be submitted before the license expires, with proof of compliance and business activity.
Compound & Punishment
- Performing construction work without a valid CIDB license may result in:
- Fines up to RM5,000.
- Suspension or cancellation of the CIDB license.
- Legal action under Act 520.
- Exceeding the approved project value limit (RM500,000) may lead to penalties, license suspension, or disqualification from future registrations.
