Now is the time to renew your business license for 2024 at your city council!
If your business license isn't renewed or isn't renewed on time, the following are the consequences:

Penalties and Fines

The local councils in Malaysia will impose penalties and fines for operating a business without a valid license. These fines can vary depending on your local council, the nature of your business and the duration of the lapse.

For example, if your business premise is within Majlis Bandaraya Iskandar Puteri (MBIP) area, this is what would happen:
- You will face a minimum 10% penalty imposed by the city council if you renew your license on 1/12/2023 onwards.
- Your business license will be cancelled by the city council if you do not renew your license before 1/1/2024.

Legal Issues

Operating a business without a valid license is illegal, and you could face legal consequences. This may include legal actions, court cases, or even closure of your business by the authorities.

Business Disruption

Without a valid license, your business may be subject to disruptions. Local council may issue you a cease and desist order until you renew your license, causing financial losses and damage to your business' reputation.

Reapplication Process

If you allow your business license to lapse for an extended period, you may be required to go through a reapplication process, which can be time-consuming and costly.
